GFI Prayer Memo May 22, 2008

Dear Missions and Prayer Partners:

John Woodward, writes a blessed report of the Lord's workers here and in other countries:

We are thankful for the Solomon's safe trip to Florida and South Carolina.  Chuck's Sunday School session and Cathy's messages to a mother and daughter's banquet and women's luncheon. Let's pray for the Florida contacts to be able to organize a conference there.  They have shown an interest to do so.

Speaking of conferences, please pray for a good turn out to the next GFI conference scheduled for June 26-26 at 1st Baptist Church, Powell, TN.  They have agreed to record the sessions so we can offer a newer DVD conference to others.

A praise item from Teresa Long: She has published her new book titled Nutritional Health from a Biblical Perspective.  She is a GFI Counseling Institute graduate and offers this book through her web site:  http://.in green pastures.vpweb.com. May God use the book's message to help believers experience spiritual, psychological, and physical health.

We ask for prayer for our counselees at GFI.  God keeps sending folks our way who are desperate for the rest and victory that the fulness of the Cross can provide.

Dr. Steve Phinney had GFI training in the early years and met with Chuck recently in Arizona.  Steve ministers through IOM America in Scottsdale, AZ.  We are discussing with him how he may be more directly involved in GFI teaching and training.  He may be deployed this fall to fulfill a request for training in China.

Our co-counselor Danny Nicely is in Florida on vacation with his wife.  May God refresh them, and grant traveling mercies.

Pastor Boersma in the Netherlands has contacted us and wants to share this message and GFI materials in his country.  We have sent him resources, and he is also getting some coaching from Eva Seyboth in Germany.  Pray that the new Dutch translation of Handbook to Happiness will be sponsored for publishing and distribution.  And Eva has taken on the big project of translating, Man as Spirit, Soul, and Body into German!

We had a good visit this week from alumnus Sheridan Stanton, a veteran missionary to Peru.  He has revised the Spanish GFI manual and has created a Spanish conference PowerPoint presentation that's excellent.  May God use these materials greatly in Latin America and Spain.  Sheridan's wife, Anita, needs prayer for healing as she is undergoing cancer treatments.

Thanks!

Pam A. called this morning.  She was having tests run for possible cancer.  The results came back yesterday - no cancer!!

She is praising God and giving Him all the glory.  However, she is still in pain and they don't know why, but she will gladly take the pain now that she knows it is not cancer.

Dear friends have asked for prayer for her former father-in-law, who is in a nursing home in Morristown, Tennessee. His name is Jack.  He has  neuropathy in both legs, and now his circulation is so bad, the doctors are giving the family two options: amputate both legs, or do nothing until the infection shuts down his organs. They give him a few months before his condition becomes life threatening.

Please pray for his 7 children, for wisdom to know what to do, and for a miracle of healing in his body.

Thank you,

- Sherry and Alex

Brother Bill, writes that his daughter, Margaret B. has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will start chemo this week.  It is not a small cancer, but a pretty good sized one.  She is not saved!  This is the most important request and then the cancer.  She lives in Zanesville OH and if you would know of any good soul winner or pastor in that area, please let me know.

My Grandson, Corey B. is in Iraq as a Navy Corpsman with the Marines.  Pretty busy where they are.  He says he is saved.

Please pray for both of these requests.

Yours in Jesus

Bill V.
