Dear Missions and Prayer Partners:
John Woodward, writes a blessed report of the Lord's workers here and in other countries:
We are thankful for the Solomon's safe trip to Florida and South Carolina. Chuck's Sunday School session and Cathy's messages to a mother and daughter's banquet and women's luncheon. Let's pray for the Florida contacts to be able to organize a conference there. They have shown an interest to do so.
Speaking of conferences, please pray for a good turn out to the next GFI conference scheduled for June 26-26 at 1st Baptist Church, Powell, TN. They have agreed to record the sessions so we can offer a newer DVD conference to others.
A praise item from Teresa Long: She has published her new book titled Nutritional Health from a Biblical Perspective. She is a GFI Counseling Institute graduate and offers this book through her web site: http://.in green pastures.vpweb.com. May God use the book's message to help believers experience spiritual, psychological, and physical health.
We ask for prayer for our counselees at GFI. God keeps sending folks our way who are desperate for the rest and victory that the fulness of the Cross can provide.
Dr. Steve Phinney had GFI training in the early years and met with Chuck recently in Arizona. Steve ministers through IOM America in Scottsdale, AZ. We are discussing with him how he may be more directly involved in GFI teaching and training. He may be deployed this fall to fulfill a request for training in China.
Our co-counselor Danny Nicely is in Florida on vacation with his wife. May God refresh them, and grant traveling mercies.
Pastor Boersma in the Netherlands has contacted us and wants to share this message and GFI materials in his country. We have sent him resources, and he is also getting some coaching from Eva Seyboth in Germany. Pray that the new Dutch translation of Handbook to Happiness will be sponsored for publishing and distribution. And Eva has taken on the big project of translating, Man as Spirit, Soul, and Body into German!
We had a good visit this week from alumnus Sheridan Stanton, a veteran missionary to Peru. He has revised the Spanish GFI manual and has created a Spanish conference PowerPoint presentation that's excellent. May God use these materials greatly in Latin America and Spain. Sheridan's wife, Anita, needs prayer for healing as she is undergoing cancer treatments.
Thanks!

Linda M. wrote: The oncologist ordered several tests to make sure the cancer is in remission. So far, all is well (Thank God.)

Pam A. called this morning. She was having tests run for possible cancer. The results came back yesterday - no cancer!!
She is praising God and giving Him all the glory. However, she is still in pain and they don't know why, but she will gladly take the pain now that she knows it is not cancer.

Dear friends have asked for prayer for her former father-in-law, who is in a nursing home in Morristown, Tennessee. His name is Jack. He has neuropathy in both legs, and now his circulation is so bad, the doctors are giving the family two options: amputate both legs, or do nothing until the infection shuts down his organs. They give him a few months before his condition becomes life threatening.
Please pray for his 7 children, for wisdom to know what to do, and for a miracle of healing in his body.
Thank you,
- Sherry and Alex

Brother Bill, writes that his daughter, Margaret B. has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will start chemo this week. It is not a small cancer, but a pretty good sized one. She is not saved! This is the most important request and then the cancer. She lives in Zanesville OH and if you would know of any good soul winner or pastor in that area, please let me know.
My Grandson, Corey B. is in Iraq as a Navy Corpsman with the Marines. Pretty busy where they are. He says he is saved.
Please pray for both of these requests.
Yours in Jesus
Bill V.

Dear Missions and Prayer Partners:
P.P. Thomas in India sent us a late message, which we wish to send on to you now:
My ministry through messages by Cell Phone is widely appreciated and many get them as there are people who forward them to other friends. I am once again preparing to teach Romans1-8 in a Seminar at Grace Counseling India Center at Kottayam May 22 to 27. My bodily symptoms seem to be retreating at snail speed. Please continue to uphold me in prayer.
In His Grace,
Thomas

John Shepherd reports that Rampei in Maasai land (Kenya/Tanzania) went last week to some new areas northwest of the team's house and found many, many bomas that have never been touched with the gospel. They have started six new story telling points (churches) now and saw three more old men and sixteen young men pray to receive Christ! Rampi says that he is planning to take some of the teams coming in the next few months, into these new areas. Joseph, their yard man, is still having problems and the doctors have given him some medicine. Remember him in prayer.
As you remember, the old men rule their families and must give approval for these ministries. Actually, the old men have had a yearning for centuries to hear the rest of what their people learned centuries ago, when they were in North Africa, at the time Jesus was in Israel. The Maasai were driven out of Egypt, and slowly, over much time, migrated southward in Africa. They do not read or write, but they have remembered, and passed on stories for centuries. The old men now rejoice when they finally receive the gospel, the message of the Savior. Often, they declare that they have been waiting, and were afraid that they would never learn the rest of their story.

Hughlene F has thanked us for the opportunity to send her prayer requests
1) She has a burden for the men who pastor churches. Can we all take time praying for our good, Godly Pastors. She would like to start a ladies prayer in her home for this very thing.
2) Requesting prayer in regard to;
The destruction from the recent storms across the United States, including 300 hundred miles of tornados and straight line winds in her state.
The earthquake in China
The disaster in Burma
The bombing in India
Prayer is needed for all the people who were effected.
Praying with you,
Grace

Dear Missions and Prayer Partners:
Chuck Solomon reports on the trip last February when he and Sue went to Phoenix to get some rest, do some writing, and visiting with friends. They were united with one of their first counselees from early 1970. They were also reunited with a brother who worked with them in Denver in early 80's. They collaborated in plans for him to go to China this fall.
Dr. Solomon had food poisoning on arrival there, which resulted in his passing out upon his return home. Two days later our Spring training began, with his strength being made perfect in his weakness (2 Cor 12:9)! Despite this, the Holy Spirit moved in a unique way with almost half, entering into victory! One was a missionary, along with two pastors and their wives, another pastor, and a young man who has been called to the ministry. One of the pastors and his wife went back to Florida and saw 20 others with whom they shared, who found victory.
To God be the Glory!
Further, the trip to Phoenix may result in a conference in a major church there; Chuck and Sue have a number of friends in that church, and Chuck had a good visit with the pastor there.
Dr. Solomon also asks again for a young lady in Romania, Jenny, who he is counseling via email.

P.P. Thomas, writes, that he was at Mumbai ministering in the Annual Conference of Evangelical Graduate's Fellowship at Vasai, near Mumbai. There were some fifteen families attending with special sessions for children. There were a few of his students now working in responsible positions there, and have leadership in their churches. There were people from several denominations and language background. He took 4 sessions on 2 Timothy, and 4 on the two Pauline prayers in Ephesians.
He had several one- on- one counseling also, staying with different families and having good interactions.
P.P.'s brother is still in the Geriatric Care Center. He has improved to some extent. But he is still not able to look after himself.
Last week P.P. visited a local Hospital for two days for a check up, He is now under medication for one month. The doctors suspect that he may be having Rheumatic Arthritis. When he goes back to the hospital next time, they will have a definitive check up.

OUR GFI Associate, Dominique Gallou writes, "Please pray for us," the Gallou family. He is out of work and has no source of income (such as welfare or unemployment payments). Current funds will only last a month, unless the Lord supplies something in the form of work or commission sales.
In the meantime, his family is serving the Lord. He leads 2 men's Bible studies since 5 weeks. The Lord brought 2 men to salvation.
We need to pray for this family

Roman Shakin, serving in Ukrainian, thanks you for your support and your prayer. His family is blessed by God. Roman gives us a brief description of God's work in GFI Ukraine, and in their church.
Roman, wishes to pay attention to God's work in those churches where they organized The Exchanged Life conferences. Also, they organize youth camps. In his own church he spends time in the Bible study, in small groups 2-3 times a week. He puts the accent on the Cross. Usually he gives sermons and also counsels people. He can see how God works in them, changes their hearts, and heals their souls.
He is grateful to God, that He teaches them to trust Him, providing everything they need. He also thanks the people of GFI, asking them to continue to pray for his family, for service, and for material support.
They plan to do two weeks of evangelism in their own area, in May. Also they will prepare for youth summer camp. Their plan is to continue to go further in different regions in all of Ukraine with the message for believers, and to preach the Gospel. Pray that God will open the people's hearts to receive salvation in Christ. He asks our prayer for this ministry.

John Shepherd reports on what is happening in Kenya. The political turmoil has settled down, they are still haggling over the support office...one trying to get an upper hand on the other. It is, as always, about power, and not the people.
Things start to be really get busy now, as they prepare teams to leave this month for the bush and to win and plant churches all over Maasai Land. The teams from churches will come every month from now to October. Please be in prayer for them.
As you know from living in the States, the cost of everything is going up. Well, the same thing is happening in Kenya, only worse. The turmoil during the elections, the cost of everything (fuel, food), skyrocketed. There was the displacement of 300,000 people, mostly the farm belt; all has taken a toll on the cost of everyday needs. Because of the unrest, they lost the whole season of planting and harvesting crops and they are just now beginning to go back to their homes...many are still afraid of what happens when they get back. All this needs much prayer. Airline tickets have gone through the roof, this will limit the number of volunteers.
The helpers: Joseph still has Typhoid Fever, but improving. Monica is still with them, and is waiting at the house for the volunteers to come back. For a long time she was afraid to return--she being a Kukuyu--but she is there caring for the house now. The Lord took care of that and everything around the house is ready. John Shepherd asks for our prayers.Calvary Road Ministries

Perfecto Mumar is still in Manila, with several pastors. He reports, that he was in the hospital last week for treatment of his kidney trouble, and heart failure. He asks prayer for his debts from the hospital. Pray also for the finishing of the printing of the tracts. Perfecto is also concerned about ministerial licenses. He asks for our prayer for monies to cover his needs.
Paying with you,
Grace

John Woodward reports his prayer requests.
Counselee, T----asks prayer for her sister (in her 30's) who is suicidal. We pray she will come for counseling and have a life renewal from God as her sister has experienced.
John will be in Atlanta May 1-4 for the association of Exchanged Life Ministries annual meeting and public conference. He asksed for prayer for traveling, fellowship, networking, and blessings on those who use the GFI book table.
GFI has a board meeting scheduled for Friday, May 9th. Please pray for God's blessing, wisdom, and guidance of the deliberations.
John is thankful for the meeting at Camp Agape, Benton, TN (with Chris & Penny Stewart) last Saturday.

In WW II, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.
This had an amazing effect as the bombing stopped. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, (8:00 Central time, 7:00 PM Mountain, and 6:00PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens and for peace in the world.

Judy H. has asked for prayer. She is wanting to quit smoking and is having other problems that God already knows about!
Here is the way to quit smoking. Find a room where there is a chair, and shut the door. Do not sit in the chair, that is were God will sit. Now kneel in front of the chair with your out-stretched hands, offering your cigarettes to the Lord. Ask Him to take away this addiction, and to cleanse you for His work. Now You will rise with joy and relief that only the Lord can give you. Rejoice!

Hughlene F. writes with a painful report. She has either lost her purse, or someone stolen it. She has gone through the agonies of every thing that must be done, canceling and reapplying for proof of identity, credit, licenses, etc. She asks the Lord for protection, and for His blessing. We can pray with her.
Praying with you,
Grace
